What SolarPro Lab costs the homeowner

The solar industry has a trust problem. Homeowners need someone on their side. That's why we built this.

How It Works

Two ways to use us. You choose.

Both are free. Both put you in control.

Option A

One rep brings the options to you

A SolarPro Lab advisor sits down with you (in person if you're in CT, online if you're in NYC or LI), walks you through the installers that fit your home, and explains what's good and what's not about each. You decide who to move forward with.

  • Best for homeowners new to solar
  • One conversation, no juggling installers
  • We bring the comparisons so you don't have to
Start with an advisor

Option B

Match me with 2 or 3 companies of my choice

Tell us which installers you want to hear from. We coordinate the quotes, normalize the proposals into a comparison you can actually read, and stay with you until you decide.

  • Best for homeowners who've done the research
  • Apples-to-apples comparison across installers
  • We review every line item on your behalf

Common questions

Frequently asked

What is SolarPro Lab?

+
We're a solar marketplace for homeowners in Connecticut, New York City, and Long Island. We don't install panels. We don't sell equipment. We compare installers, surface their actual strengths and weaknesses, and let you decide who to do business with.

How are you different from a solar company like Sunrun?

+
A solar company can only sell you their panels, their financing, their solution. We're not tied to any single installer, so we compare a few that fit your home and you pick. No captive product line, no commission on which panels you choose.

How are you different from a lead-generation site like SolarReviews or EnergySage?

+
Lead-gen sites sell your phone number to 5 to 15 installers. Your information is their product. We don't sell your info. We have one conversation with you, and your data goes only to installers you've explicitly chosen.

Do I have to use a SolarPro Lab consultant?

+
No. There are two ways to use us. One: a SolarPro Lab advisor walks you through the best installer matches for your home. Two: you tell us which installers you want quotes from and we coordinate the comparison. Either way, you pick.

Will my information be sold or shared?

+
Never sold. Shared only with installers you choose. If you don't pick anyone, your info stays with us and no one else hears from you.

Is it really free?

+
Honest answer: yes and no. Yes, you never write SolarPro Lab a check. We're paid a flat referral fee by installers only after a homeowner chooses to move forward, and the fee is the same across every installer in our network. Now the no: solar itself isn't free. You're paying for it either way. You can keep paying the utility company every month for the rest of your life, or you can pay for a solar system over 25 years and then pay nothing. In CT and NY, where electricity runs 22 to 35¢ per kWh, your solar payment almost always lands below the utility bill it replaces. So you're not adding a cost. You're swapping a higher bill for a lower one that builds equity in your home.

Do you serve my area?

+
All of Connecticut, all five NYC boroughs, and Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island. CT consultations are available in person or online. NYC and LI are typically online, in person where the advisor's schedule allows.
